Upekha is an Australian physiotherapist with a strong background in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, with particular interest in lower limb injuries and foot and ankle conditions across both everyday and high-performance settings.
A graduate of La Trobe University in Melbourne, Upekha has spent over a decade treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions commonly seen in private practice, including back, neck, shoulder, knee, and lower limb pain. Her clinical approach combines hands-on treatment with targeted rehabilitation, integrating manual therapy, dry needling, myofascial release, movement retraining, and strength-based exercise to help patients recover fully and return to activity with confidence.
Alongside private practice, Upekha works with professional female tennis players competing on the WTA Tour and is also a core member of the medical team at Hong Kong Ballet, where she is involved in the ongoing care of professional dancers and provides onsite support for ballet injuries and performance-related conditions. Her experience across elite sport, dance medicine, and high-performance rehabilitation allows her to work closely with athletes, dancers, and active individuals managing complex injuries and demanding physical workloads.
With a background as a former professional ballroom dancer, Upekha has a deep appreciation for movement quality, biomechanics, and the physical demands placed on the body. Her own experience in dance and performance allows her to connect closely with active individuals navigating injury, recovery, and return to activity. She is known for her thoughtful, individualised care and her focus on helping patients move with greater confidence, resilience, and freedom.
