Josephine Lai

Physiotherapist

BSc Physiotherapy (Hons), King’s College London, UK

Josephine is a physiotherapist with a strong interest in injury rehabilitation, sports physiotherapy, and dance medicine. She works closely with active individuals, athletes, and performers, helping them recover from injury and return confidently to the activities that matter most to them.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in the UK, Josephine is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Since returning to Hong Kong, she has further developed her expertise through clinical research in sports medicine and orthopaedics, working alongside leading sports medicine specialist Professor Patrick Yung. Her experience includes the use of VALD technology and objective movement assessment to support injury rehabilitation and performance recovery. Her approach combines evidence-based rehabilitation with hands-on treatment and active recovery strategies tailored to each individual.

Josephine also served as Lead Physiotherapist for StellaLou’s Wonderful Wishes Ballet, a collaboration between Hong Kong Ballet and Disney performed at Hong Kong Disneyland. In this role, she supported the wellbeing of professional dancers throughout rehearsals and performances, managing both acute and long-standing injuries while helping dancers navigate the physical demands of training and performance. Working closely with dancers strengthened her understanding of load management, recovery, and the physical and mental impact injuries can have both on and off the stage.

Outside of the clinic, Josephine has a background in competitive cheerleading at national level and understands firsthand the discipline, pressure, and emotional frustration that can come with injury and time away from sport. Her treatment approach focuses not only on recovery, but also on helping clients rebuild confidence, resilience, and trust in their bodies through structured, evidence-based rehabilitation.
