Charmaine is a paediatric physiotherapist known for her warm, engaging approach and her ability to build genuine connections with children and their families. She creates fun, supportive environments where children feel safe to move, explore, and build confidence in their bodies.
Born and raised in Sydney, Charmaine graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in Australia and has since focused her clinical practice on paediatric physiotherapy in Hong Kong. She has worked across local settings including the Hong Kong Jockey Club, special needs schools such as Sarah Roe, and private clinics, giving her a strong understanding of the local healthcare and education landscape. Charmaine has also been mentored by paediatric physiotherapist Liesbeth Krebbers, whose thoughtful and child-centred approach has helped shape Charmaine’s own philosophy of care.
Charmaine has experience supporting children with physical disabilities, neurodivergent profiles such as autism and ADHD, neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, and a range of congenital and developmental conditions. Her care is always guided by each child’s individual goals, developmental stage, and family context.
She is trained in Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI Therapy) and incorporates neuroplasticity-focused techniques where appropriate to support motor development and functional progress. Her sessions are guided by purposeful play and grounded in evidence-based practice, creating engaging environments that support movement, confidence, and independence.
Collaboration is central to Charmaine’s approach. She works closely with families, teachers, and other health professionals, and is able to deliver care in both Cantonese and English to ensure clear communication and continuity of support.
Charmaine values being part of each child’s developmental journey and is committed to helping children build confidence, independence, and functional movement over time.
